The Wests Tigers were originally formed as a joint venture between Balmain Tigers and Western Suburbs Magpies. Since their inaugural season in 2000, Tigers have won the premiership once, back in 2005. One man still remains from that premiership win, current Kiwis captain Benji Marshall, who will be looking to bring home the premiership to the Wests Tigers in 2012.
