Healthy Ice Cream Recipe

Healthy Ice Cream Recipe

The sun was beating down on the hot sand while spectators were watching the surfers catch 3-foot waves at the Hurley Australian Open at Manly. Although it was a beautiful day, everyone was secretly praying for a cloud to cover the harsh sunlight. My skin resembled a ripe red tomato instead of a tan and it felt very displeasing. I knew I needed some form of refreshment to cool down. Small crowded tents had water and various chilled drinks, but this did not satisfy my needs.

Then it came to me! Nothing can cool you down more than ice cream. There was only one problem that stood in my way. Although ice cream is delicious, I am currently on a diet and this would completely ruin the past month of working out and eating right. I needed an alternative answer to my ice cream needs.

When I arrived home from the beach, I was still very hot from the beating sun, so naturally I headed into the kitchen to find something to cool me down. I searched through my fridge when a brilliant idea hit me. Why don’t I make a healthy form of ice cream for myself? I was very depressed at the beach when I was unable to have the rich heavy-calorie ice cream offered. So I searched for some strawberries and bananas because they are my favourite flavors. I pulled out some whipping cream as well. I search through the pantry for some vanilla extract as well. Once I had all my items I began to make low-fat gluten free strawberry banana ice cream!

Here is the recipe I used:

Ingredients

2 bananas

½ cup of frozen strawberry’s

½ teaspoon of vanilla

2 Tbsp. whipping cream

Method

After I had blended all the ingredients together, it resembled ice cream. I took a bite out of it and it was delicious and satisfied my need for something that would cool me down. It was super easy to make and did not take a lot of ingredients. I would highly recommend this recipe to anyone who is trying to have a healthy lifestyle or even make a healthy snack for themselves or their kids.
